Shoulder Cozy!!!

This past week has been INSANE!!!!! Hurricane Sandy hit us hard.  I feel so blessed to have been spared from her wrath.  But, here in Staten Island, not so many people were as fortunate as my family.
My prayers are out in the universe for everyone right now!!!!!!

On a lighter note, if there can be one .... I spent many days without power and sat, and sat, KNITTING!!!!!
Found these books at the library the past week and decided to give one of the patterns a try.

This shoulder cozy looks so awesome.  I am always cold and this looks just right.  (said papa bear :)

I had 3 skeins of this greenish color yarn and the pattern only required one.  Yay!  Here I GO ...
Oooohhhhh ... me lovey!
I decided after the required rows were finished before the collar that it needed to be longer.  Since I had more yarn .. it was just fine.
all finished
Now for some pretty picture.

And my friend Dina ... being my Model :)

Looking good on Denim!

Looks like cables!  I love it.

Cant wait to wear it!  Or gift it!!!  Happy Friday!

Crochet newborn hats for halloween!

My friend just had a baby girl.  One of her friends asked me to make a pumpkin hat for her.  So this is what I came up with ...

Isn't it sooooooo cute?!!!! I love love love it.  So much in fact that I will make myself one to wear for Halloween :)

I made a matching diaper cover too.  I couldn't resist.

I used the versatile ear flap pattern from Micahmakes.com  and the leaves and stem I did from a pattern in one of my crochet books.  Crochet inspiration.

My niece had her 3rd birthday Sunday as well.

After making the pumpkin hat, I realized that her New Bitty twins she got needed something cute too!

Matching apple hats.  Soo cute.
I used the same pattern and the leaf and stem here were free on her website too.  Very easy to do and less than an hour!!!!

I got my niece a double stroller for her dolls too.  Since one is a boy and one is a girl, I though I would fix the stroller a little.  It is completely pink and even though the boy doll wont mind lol or my niece, I thought it would be fun to give the stroller a makeover.
Used some old shirts from my husband's stash!

I removed the back seat to use for my template

Sorry but I didn't iron it either :0

This was the sleeve cuff

Here it is all ready to go.  So cute I think!

Oh I made little pillows too!!!!
So It was fun making all the little things.  It went fast too!  I loved every minute of creating this weekend :)
Happy Monday everyone!  XOXOXOXOX, Lisa

Oh how I love to knit & Crochet!

I can't begin to explain how many projects I have going on right now!!!  Soooo ... I am going to show you all the goodness lying around my house.

Supplies I purchased today at Joann's.

First thing I am sharing is this AHHHHH MAYYYYY ZING Vest I am doing with my friend Michele.
Ohhhhh my gosh!  My first really beautiful garment ever to make myself!

This is the softest yarn Ever!

This is my work.  3/4 done already. Won't be long now!

Our knit along!
Oh boy, here's another thing I am making myself.

It is the cutest summer/fall sweater ever.  I say fall because I can wear long sleeves under it.  Maybe you'll see me in it next year since I have lot's more to show you hahaha.  It will have to wait a while to finish it :( sadly!!!!

I LOVE tweed!

I am definitely not using buttons on mine.

 Ok ..... NEXT ...

This project is on Lauren's needles!  It's an amazing scarf.  You can find the pattern here.
It has such an intense cable pattern yet it's so simple.  I can't wait to see it finished.

NEXT ...

I honestly started out with this yarn as something else.  I ripped it out and started over 2x.  Ughhhhh, That is the worst.  Knitting can be so hard sometimes.  But in the end, I am happy because this Noro yarn has a beautiful self striping pattern and the cables I was making kind of didn't work the way I liked.

This will be an eternity scarf/ double wrap cowl ... depending how much length the yarn gets me.  I have 2 skeins.

Perfect fall colors!
So on to the next shall we ...

My Beauty, LAUREN!!!!!
At the end of the summer, I took my daughter Lauren to this great little yarn cafe in Carol Gardens, Brooklyn.  "La Casita yarn shop".  We went there to meet our cousin Marlo who lives there, and we were buying yarn for her wedding party flip flops!  It was such a nice treat.

While there, we were introduced to some lovely patterns we haven't seen before!

I was most excited about the Nancy Ricci patterns.
These are the ones we bought at the shop.
I haven't started this one yet !

Finger gloves Lauren made for her cousin Morgan who is away at college.  They are finished.  Hooray.  Just in time for her Birthday.  All we have to do is block and sew and mail them!

This pattern matches the hat above.  I started a pair for my son's friend.  Her birthday party is this Friday.

I am planning on making a bunch of these for the holiday fair I will do in November.  I am hoping to have the time :)  hahahaha!

The last thing I am working on at the moment are little leg warmers for my niece.  Her Birthday party is tomorrow.  She just stared kindergarten.  I think these are really cute.

I got the pattern on Etsy.
Finished this set for my friend Laura.  The hat pattern is from Etsy too.

2 options for the flower's.

the flowers are on hair clips.
Little finger gloves to match for little hands.  This pattern I came up with myself to kinda match the hat and the leg warmers.
Whew, that's a whole lot of goodness don't you think!   I will snap some pics of my projects upon completion.  Hopefully real soon!!!!!

Ohhhhhh, I went to the library and look what I took out ...

I am really excited.  Now to just find some more time!!!!!

Have a great weekend!!!!!  xoxoxoxox, Lisa
